Listening To Students' Unspoken Questions

7/10/2013

Picture
Today students in Years 3-6 were invited to consider their participation in answering a survey aimed at learning more about the questioning behaviour of students. They will be returning home with explanatory notes and parental permission notes to ensure that carers are informed about the nature of the research.

"We want to make sure that everyone feels they are able to ask questions in a
classroom setting," explains Jeff. "Learning often starts with a question
and we want to ensure that questions enrich our learning here at Pender's
Grove." The research is organised in collaboration with Monash University and
will involve students in surveys, interviews and questioning strategies.

Parents are invited to attend an information session after school on Thursday at 3:40pm in the Computer Lab to learn more or simply ask their own questions. Please ensure that permission notes are returned and placed in the labelled bucket in front of the Year 5/6 classrooms.

    Welcome

Here is a glimpse into the life of our school community. It is both an invitation to join us and a celebration of learning along the way. Please consider encouraging our students by making a comment.
