October is Walk to School Month at Pender's Grove PS!
We are encouraging students to walk, ride or scoot to school as often as possible during October. Classrooms are keeping a tally of this and there will be special certificates at the end of the month. Today we had a special Walk to School Day where we encouraged as many people as possible to walk, scoot or ride to school. We understand that some students at our school have to come by car and today lots of those students were able to get their families to park a little further away and walk part of the way to school. Darebin Council and Vic Health provided muffins and fruit that the students enjoyed at recess and there were special stickers for all students to celebrate the day. Thanks to all the students and families for participating so enthusiastically today. Thanks also to Kasia, from Darebin Council who came along to celebrate with us.

Last term, Junior School Council organised an end of term event which was a games day.
We got split into groups with people from other grades and year levels and we played games like 3-legged race, balloon race, number soccer, egg and spoon race, tunnel ball and bean bag race. It was fun to be together as a whole school, everyone had a good time. We would like to thank everyone for participating in the activities and the teachers for helping to organise it. Junior School Council It has been great to see everyone back at school so motivated and ready to learn for another term during the last two weeks.
We have a very busy term with lots of fantastic learning experiences planned as we head into the end of our school year. Check back every now and then for updates on some of the activities that will happen each week at Pender's Grove PS! |
