2026 Foundation Enrolment
Enrolment Eligibility
To be eligible for enrolment your child must turn five by 30 April in the year they are due to commence. A copy of your child’s birth certificate and their immunisation certificate are required when enrolling. Immunisation certificates can be obtained by phoning 1800 653 809 or through a Medicare branch.
Our School Zone
Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au. Findmyschool.vic.gov.au hosts the most up-to-date information about Victorian school zones. Students residing in this zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address. You can find more information and answers to frequently asked questions on the Department’s website under School zones.
School Tours for Foundation
To book a tour please contact the school on 03 9484 1076 or via email to arrange a discussion with our Principal where our school programs will be explained and questions can be answered. These conversations can be arranged for various times across the week or can be via video conference. Applications for enrolment will be accepted from the start of Term 2. Tours are conducted individually and the following times will generally available across various days each week (from late March) at 9.30, 11.00 and 12.00. If these times are not suitable please let us know and we will do our best to find a time that suits you.
2026 Transition Program & weekly pre-Prep activities
Please note that our Foundation Transition program for enrolled students begins in October. Students are encouraged to attend as many sessions as possible until it finishes in late Term 4. Please note that we also have a weekly pre-Foundation program for any pre-Foundation students and their families from the start of Term 2. Please check back or contact the school for more detail.
Education Week Open Day
The school will be holding a community open day during Education Week on Thursday May 15th. Please check back closer to the date for a program and more detail.
Process for 2026 Foundation (Prep) enrolments
The Department of Education has a statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline. The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Pender's Grove. All government primary schools will follow the timeline to support Foundation (Prep) enrolments for the 2026 school year.
What you need to do:
1. Contact our school to book a school tour or to learn more about our school and the enrolment application process
2. Download the Foundation (Prep) enrolment information pack from this page from April 22nd.
3. Submit an enrolment application for Foundation (Prep) by 25th July 2025
4. You will be notified of the outcome of your application by August 8th. If you receive an offer of placement, you should contact our school to accept the offer by August 22nd.
5. Take part in enrolment information and transition sessions during Term 4 2025.
6. Your child will start Foundation (Prep) on January 29th 2026.
Enrolment applications submitted after the late July enrolment date will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the department’s Placement Policy.
