JSC did some reflection on Remembrance Day today. Here are their thoughts:
Remembrance Day: On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month every year we have a minute’s silence. We do this because World War 1 was ended at the ended on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. We pay tribute to the soldiers that have fought in any war: World War 1, World War 2, Boer War, Vietnam War, Afghanistan Why is it important to us? Amelia- They fought for our freedom Ali- “They gave up their tomorrow, for our today” Adam- It’s important because a lot of people died and they thought they were doing it for their country but lots of the time it was political. People we will remember today Chani- My great great grandpa went to World War 1 but died in World War 2 after he was badly injured. Jarvis- My great grandpa survived World War 2 but three weeks after the war ended he died from his injuries. He flew in a fighter jet. Mel- My grandfather trained people to be pilots in war. Ali- My uncle fought in religious wars, he got shot and died. My dad was also shot but he is still alive. Amelia- My great grandfather was in a prisoner of war camp. He wasn’t alive for very long when he got out. Comments are closed.
