Well done to our students who yesterday raised nearly $300 to go towards relief efforts in Nepal after the recent earthquake there. Thankyou to the JSC, assisted by Amy, who came up with the idea for a "Splash of Red Day" where students could pay a gold coin donation to wear a red item of clothing that reminded us of the Nepalese flag. Read on for a report from JSC about the day.
Junior School Council at Pender's Grove was concerned with current events over in Nepal, where they have experienced two major earthquakes in the last month. They decided to organise a fundraising event to raise money for people in need in Nepal. The Nepalese flag is mainly red so a date was set, Thursday 28th May, when students in the school would be invited to bring a gold coin donation and wear a splash of red. It was fantastic to see so many students involved on the day and so much money raised for those in need. 6A- $11.50 35J- $32.50 35M- $31.30 35N- $31.80 F2A- $27 F2W- $36 F2R- $23.50 F2W- $49 Total- $287.40 Thanks to all those students, families and staff who participated.
