Here at Pender’s Grove, we care about the environment, and want to be a sustainable school! Lucky Lunchbox is a program we’ve set up so that children are encouraged to bring rubbish-free lunches. This means no packets, plastic wrap, foil, juice boxes, etc, that get thrown away and end up in landfill. Ziplock bags that get taken home and reused are acceptable, as are reusable containers of any kind, eg Nude Food, Tupperware, or Sistema. Once a week, on a random day, representatives from 3/4O will go to every classroom and see how many people have a rubbish-free lunch. We will tick their names on the class list. Then we will put those names into a box for the prize draw! Every Friday at assembly we will pull out a name and that person gets the prize. We will also award the grade with the most rubbish free lunches with a trophy that they keep for the week. So join us in becoming a sustainable community, bring rubbish-free lunches, and perhaps even win a prize for your efforts! Maya, Bahar, Olivia and Tameeka Comments are closed.
