![]() Recently in 5/6A we have been investigating fractions, we’ve been asking questions like “What are the different parts of a fraction?” and “Why do all the parts of a fraction need to be equal?” To find out more we had a ‘cooking’ session in the staffroom, we made Fun Fruit Kababs using apple, banana and grapes. ![]() We were given very specific instructions about how to divide each piece of fruit amongst our groups of 4 and then how to divide the fruit we had to put it onto a skewer. Each group had an apple, a banana and 16 grapes and each person had to have 12 pieces of fruit on their skewer, we had to have half the amount on the skewer as our favourite fruit and then 2 quarters of each of the other 2 types of fruit. We had so much fun chopping up fruit, arranging it onto our skewers, dipping it into yoghurt then coconut and….of course….EATING THEM! Thanks to Andrea and Isabelle for their help in the staffroom!
