Who likes doing jigsaws? Trish and Ellie like to get out a jigsaw every now and then and do it together. This is a picture of one they were starting the other day. They make the jigsaw on a special mat that you can roll up while you are doing the jigsaw and put it away for a while if you need to use the table or space that it is laid out on. Isn't that a clever idea?! This jigsaw is 500 pieces, what is the biggest jigsaw that you have done?

It was Ellie's birthday last Friday and as she loves to bake cakes, she made herself an amazing lemon curd cake. It had lots of layers of cake, lemon and cream and was delicious. We tried to make it a special birthday for her even though we couldn't go out to eat and celebrate with others in the family like we usually would. We ordered lots of delicious take away for dinner and then had an online Webex celebration with the family! Has anyone else had a birthday during lockdown?
Have a look at this amazing acrostic poem sent by 3/4W this week! An acrostic poem is a poem where certain letters in each line spell out a word or phrase and in this poem it spells out BRUNO! 3/4W wrote the poem as a whole class activity on their Webex English session on Tuesday. Thanks so much 3/4W - this is amazing work and we love it!
Even though it was cold at times last weekend we were able to get outside and do some gardening. Lawns were mowed and we also did some weeding as the weeds grow very fast at this time of the year! Is there a garden at your house either outside or inside, perhaps in a window box? In the photo we have been weeding the ground around our rose bushes. What sort of gardening and planting do you, or would you, like to do?
My family (except for Douglas) loves watching the football so they have been loving how many games there have been on lately for them to watch. As it was a bit cold and overcast on Saturday it was a nice day to be inside watching the football. This is us watching the game on Saturday night! I would be interested to hear what you got up to on the weekend. Do you like to watch sport on tv or are there other shows that you enjoy?
It has certainly been very cold, and sometimes foggy too, when we have been on our walks in the mornings. This is a photo of when we went for our walk earlier this week and we were all very glad to be back inside near the heater afterwards! We have talked before about which season you like best but today Im wondering what do you most enjoy about winter? For us, in addition to being in front of the heater, it is the food that you more often might eat like stews, soups, warm bread and casseroles! What about you?
It was very busy at school during the holidays. There were lots of workers around the place cleaning, fixing, digging, pruning and on the day when we took this photo, asphalting! You might remember that during the summer holidays half of the middle playground was dug up and the asphalt surface replaced. Well in the last holiday the workers came back and finished the job all the way down to the start of the oval. It looks fantastic now it is finished and is a much flatter and safer space to play and run on. What sorts of things did you get up to in your holidays?
We're ba-ack (yes, still in front of the heater)!! As we have started remote learning again this term we will be able to do some more blog posts. We are really happy about that as it was great last time posting what we had been up to and reading and responding to your comments. We will try and post a few times each week. This week we are planning to do that today, tomorrow and Thursday. Let me know that you will be reading my blog by writing something in the comments section below. Have a great week and good luck with your remote learning!
Well everyone, our time for remote learning is coming to an end and you will all be back on site at school next week. The blog page will stay here for now and we won't be updating as regularly, so we would like to take the opportunity today to say a huge thankyou to everyone who has been reading the blog and to those of you that have taken the time to send a comment, question or message! Have a lovely long weekend and all the best for the rest of the term. I'm sure you will all have a brilliant time back at school where everyone has missed seeing you and are so looking forward to having you back there! Bye for now!
Bruno & Douglas Don't forget Grade 3-6's that you will be finishing Remote Learning this Friday and be back at school on Tuesday next week (Monday is a Public Holiday).
If your surname starts with A-K you will start school at 8.50am every day and finish at 3.15pm. If your surname stars with L-Z you will start school at 9.05am and finish at 3.30pm. You can come to school 10 mins before your start time but not earlier than that unless you are going to Before School Care. Everyone also needs to remember to bring a drink bottle as at the moment no one is able to drink straight out of the drinking taps. If you have any questions about how it is going to work fellow free to ask here and we will do our best to answer your questions... |
