How are your pets doing?

I was thinking today about how everyone's pets might be coping with the house being full all of the time.  These are our Guinea Pigs.  One is hiding in his house but you can see the other one eating grass on the right of the photo.  We keep a part of the grass in our back yard "un-mowed" so that they can eat the grass.  At night if it is too cold we bring them inside.   I must admit I have got used to having everybody at home and it will be hard when we can be outside again and everybody is out during the day at work and school.  How are your pets doing?

Hi Paige - the guinea pigs seem to spend most of their day hiding either in or under their house and eating!

Hi Lucy - - the guinea pig cage needs to be cleaned out quite often and if it is too cold we need to bring them inside to a cage we have on our porch. When they are outside during the day we don't have to do too much for them - they have lots of room in their enclosure to run about, hide and play..

Hi Bruno
I have a new- ish cat and 3 chickens. Our cat ( Ginger) has been playing around the house and cuddling with me and our chickens have stopped laying eggs but they still run around the backyard.

Hi Hannah - that is interesting about the chickens - do you think they have stopped laying because there are more people about the house and yard?

Hello Bruno,
I have an axolotl, and he seems to be doing fine.

Lots of my friends have cats and dogs, and they are doing fine.

Amelia :)

Hello Bruno, it’s really good to know your family is looking after you and your guinea pigs. Taking care of each other is really important especially right now and it’s great that you are loving being at home with your family. I have a cat called Skitty and she is very hairy and two Italian greyhounds, one calked Kinsey and the other Coma who have no hair at all!

Hi Bruno, we got three chickens last week, their names are Ruby, Diamond and Flower. They haven't started laying yet because they are still young. We are looking on the adopt a dog website and will get a dog soon. We like a black kelpie called Blue and a scruffy black dog called Mr Fox. Our dad has a golden retriever in Canada called Barley.

Hi Momo & Adelie
Mr Fox sounds like an excellent dog! Let us know how you go. How long does it take before chickens are old enough to start laying?

Hi Bruno.

About two weeks ago we got two cats ( Leo & Jinx)

Leo is still quite shy and hides away for most of the day but Jinx is very friendly and likes to sleep next to you and sit in your lap.

Leo is getting to be around us a lot more now
