The Community Events Committee is a group of parents and carers that works together to manage all the fundraising and community events that happen at Pender’s. Each term, we try to have one community focused event. So everyone, please save the dates for: Term 2: Winter Solstice Festival Thursday 27th June (day before last day of term) Term 3: Trivia Night Saturday 14th Sept Term 4: Kris Kringle Night Market Friday 13th Dec The community event for this term will be a community picnic at Pender’s Park after school and into the evening on the last day of term (April 5). It’s simple: bring what you need for a picnic or bbq, or take the easy road and pop up to High St to pick up fish n chips when the troops start to get hungry. Come down when you’re ready, leave when you’re done, and spend the time in between socialising with other Pender’s parents while the kids tear around on their bikes. We look forward to seeing you there and meeting some of the new families at Pender’s Grove this year. For parents who are interested in contributing to the community life of the school, the CEC welcomes you to join us. We don’t have any meetings in real life, which means working parents are welcome and able to participate. All our communication happens via an email thread, so if you’d like to be added, leave your details at the office. Parents on the committee contribute in lots of different ways, from organising major events like the Mother’s Day Stall or the Kris Kringle Night Market, to bringing soup for the Winter Solstice festival, volunteering for a Bunnings bbq or turning up early to an event to decorate. Parents can contribute as much or as little as they’d like or are able, and all are welcome!
