Our facilities reflect our commitment to providing every student with a safe, inclusive, inspiring learning environment. From innovative play spaces to dynamic learning hubs, Pender’s Grove is designed for children to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.


Outdoor Play Areas
At Pender’s Grove Primary School, we believe outdoor play is essential for every child’s growth and development. Our school offers a variety of play spaces designed to inspire movement, creativity, and social interaction.
Adventure Playgrounds
Oval Playground: Features parallel slides, a climbing net, rock wall, bridge, and climbing bars, all shaded by sails.
Front Hall Playground: A smaller, quieter space ideal for younger students, with balance equipment, monkey bars, a bridge, and a fire pole. Nearby, children can engage in imaginative play with our accessible cubby house/shop fronts, musical instruments, and a low basketball hoop under the natural shade of established trees.
Sporting Facilities
- A large oval with goalposts for soccer, rugby, and football.
- Full-size basketball and netball courts.
- A decked seating area overlooking the oval, shaded by new sails.
Passive Play and Sensory Spaces
We are proud to offer a range of passive and sensory play areas that cater to every child’s needs.
Highlights include:
- A large shaded sandpit, perfect for digging and creative play.
- An Inclusive Sensory Playspace featuring tactile trails, edible gardens, quiet seating zones, rubberized surfaces, and low play equipment.
- A popular mud kitchen for imaginative, hands-on fun.
- A brand new gaga pit offering a fast-paced, inclusive playground game.
- Giant yard games like chess, checkers, snakes & ladders, Connect Four, and a communal outdoor blackboard.


Learning Spaces
Learning Neighbourhood (LN Building)
Our environmentally friendly Learning Neighbourhood features:
- Classrooms with Interactive Whiteboards.
- A central collaborative space for inquiry-based learning.
- Water reuse systems, optimized heating/cooling, and energy-efficient lighting.
Main Heritage Building
Our historic main building houses:
- Administrative offices and a number of bright, updated classrooms.
- Recent upgrades for accessibility, ventilation, and natural lighting.
Specialist Learning Areas
At Pender’s Grove Primary School, students have access to specialist spaces that nurture creativity and lifelong skills.
- Music Room
- Art Studio
- Italian Language Room
- Library: Open weekly for class visits and at lunchtimes, with a wide collection of children’s literature.
- Multi-purpose Gymnasium (The Hall): A full-size indoor basketball court used for Physical Education, school concerts, assemblies, and community events. It also hosts our TheirCare Out of School Hours Care program.


Makers’ Space and STEM Learning
Our dedicated Makers’ space encourages hands-on exploration in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). It features:
- iPads, netbooks, and an interactive whiteboard
- 3D printer and green screen
- Wet area and science kits
- Resources supporting our Inquiry & Investigations programs
Outdoor Learning and Gardens
We value outdoor learning and environmental stewardship.
- Indigenous Garden: Created in 2005 through collaboration between students, staff, and families.
- Vegetable Gardens: Maintained by classes and our Out of School Hours Care program using traditional beds and wicking beds.
- Covered Seating and Outdoor Classrooms: Multiple shaded spaces and a rubber-surfaced amphitheatre provide areas for outdoor eating, playing, and learning.
