Pender’s Grove Primary School has proudly served the Thornbury community for over a century. Originally established as Pleasant Street Primary in the early 20th century, the school has grown and evolved alongside the local area—reflecting its diverse, creative, and inclusive spirit.
The school was renamed Pender’s Grove Primary School in 1996, honouring the local Penders Grove estate and acknowledging the area’s rich cultural and historical roots. Throughout its long history, the school has maintained a strong commitment to progressive education, community involvement, and student wellbeing.
Today, Pender’s Grove continues to foster a love of learning in a vibrant and supportive environment. We combine innovative teaching practices with a deep respect for our past, ensuring every child feels connected, capable, and inspired.
