I went to visit Douglas at school yesterday and here is a picture of me having a wander around the front yard. It was nice getting out of the house for some exercise and being able to get some fresh air somewhere new!  Now that the rules about visitors at your house have changed have you been able to visit someone special you had not seen for a while or had people at your house that had not been able to visit for the last few weeks?

We are all very excited that our F-2 students will be back at school from today. Our 3-6 students will be back at the school in two weeks time and we are looking forward to that also!  What have you missed about being at the school that has been different while you have been doing remote learning at home?

It has been great that over the last week the rules have been changed about getting out of the house.  We usually go out for a walk each day but it has nice to see other people out enjoying the outdoors a little more than they were able to previously.  This is a picture that we took at a local park near our house when we were walking earlier this week.  What are some of the things you have been able to do with your family that you hadn't been able to do for a while?

Weekend Cooking!

How was your weekend?  My family had a great time yesterday cooking pizzas for dinner.  They made the dough and then made pizzas that they cooked on pizza stones on the BBQ!  We made capricciosa pizzas, vegetarian pizzas and chorizo & feta pizzas! They were delicious and today there was enough for everyone to have leftovers for their lunch!  What did you all get up to on the weekend?

Read a good book lately?

We saw this lovely idea when we were walking the other day. It is a library box that someone has set up on their nature strip.  They have put a selection of books inside for other people to borrow. There are magazines, children's books and novels.  Isn't that a fantastic thing to do?  We were then wondering what reading you have been doing while you have been learning at home? What was the last really good book that you read?

I am having a rest today and my friends the Guinea Pigs are running the website and checking your messages.  They are very eager to assist and are always keen to help.  What sorts of things have you been doing to help at home while we have been remote learning this term?

When you go to   a class page a box like the one in the photo above will pop up.  You will need to type in the password and click the login button.  Your teacher will let you know what the password is today or tomorrow via email or if they Webex with you.

Super Moon!

I wonder if any of you saw the Super Moon last night? A Super Moon is when a full moon or new moon happens at the same time as perigee (that's the time when the Moon comes closest to Earth in its orbit).  We have had lots to look at in the sky at night this last week with a comet passing the Earth plus a meteor shower!  The next Super Moon will occur next year (2021) towards the end of April!  Halley's Comet, which is a very famous comet that passes Earth every 75 years, will pass the Earth next in 2061...how old will you all be then?!

Yesterday Ellie was doing some of her work for uni so I thought it would be good to help her out.  She was doing some very interesting learning about Environmental Science.
What have been your favourite tasks that you have worked on this term while we have been learning at home? It might be something your teacher asked you to do or it might be some learning that you have been doing on your own or with your family.  I would love to know!

A good weekend for lounging...

Good morning everyone!  On the weekend Panda and I spent quite a lot of time doing this (see photo). As the weather was cold and wet that was a good excuse to curl up on the couch and alternate between having a snooze and watching TV. We all went out for a walk on Saturday but on Sunday I slept in while Douglas and Panda went on their own.  Maybe I will go next time...
What did you all get up to on the weekend?
