Hi everyone - welcome back for Term 2! As you would know, this term all students will be learning remotely. To access classroom and specialist home learning pages please click on Remote Learning on the main menu or on the button below. Each day your teacher will put their work for the day on their "Daily Page" and they also have a "Main Page" where they will put extra work that can be completed. Have fun and learn lots!
A reminder also to please help your child message or email their teacher every day as this will help them to keep track of student "attendance" at school this term! Following advice from the Victorian Government on Tuesday 7 April, Pender's Grove PS will be moving to remote and flexible learning from Term 2 (beginning with a pupil-free day on Tuesday April 14th).
This is a step all Victorian government schools are taking to help slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). This means that all students who can learn at home must learn from home. This is a very clear directive from the Victorian Government based on the advice of the Chief Health Officer. We will continue to offer limited on-site learning for those students who need to access this, including for students on days when they are not able to be supervised at home and no other arrangements can be made. We will provide further information about this shortly. The Department’s latest advice on coronavirus can be found at https://www.education.vic.gov.au/coronavirus It is important that we work together and support each other during this challenging time. We will be in touch with staff and parents and carers shortly with further details of what remote and flexible learning will look like at our school. In the meantime, you might find it useful to look at the Department’s Learning from Home website. It provides resources and guidance for teachers and parents and carers. https://www.education.vic.gov.au/about/department/Pages/learningfromhome.aspx We hope everyone is having a restful break. Please see below for school start dates/information for 2020.

We are always grateful for the amazing support we get from families and our community and 2018 was no exception. Have a happy and restful holiday and we will see you all back again in 2019!
What a fantastically busy term we had! It seems like an age ago that we had our sister school visitors here from Hanoi, the book week visit from author and illustrator, Leigh Hobbs, Seussical the musical (in collaboration with Thornbury High School) and the basketball round robin, but they were all only a matter of weeks ago! It won't be long before the end of the year is upon us, but before that we have 3 school camps, the Christmas market, Grade Six secondary school orientation and graduation. 2019 Foundation Transition, zone Athletics, outdoor classroom day, Walk to School month plus 11 weeks of fantastic classroom learning!
As always - for more specific news about the daily life of our school please have a look at our Facebook page. We are regularly posting about the fantastic learning and events that our students and community are part of here at Pender's Grove What an amazingly busy Term 2 we have had this year! In the last week of term we had our annual Winter solstice Evening and it was great to see so many from our community relaxing, socialising and sharing stories over sausages, soup and hot chocolate. Our students were also very excited about their part in the evening as part of our lantern parade or in one of the musical performances. It was a reminder again about eh fantastic community atmosphere we have here at Pender's.
