Last week was Book Week and our students were busy all week reading and being creative with this year's theme "Curious Creatures - Wild Minds". We weren't able to have a dress up day for families to come and watch this year but it didn't stop 12C making their own costumes and having a parade! 4/5A: 4/5A visualised their ideal book week costume and drew the character that inspired the costume ![]() Specialist Art: 4/5s: Kindness keepers (keyrings) in response to Bat vs Poss. We hope everyone has had a restful holiday. A reminder that remote learning returns for next week (Oct 5-9) for all students from the first day of Term 4.
All students (F-6) will return to on site learning on Monday 12/10. School start and finish will be staggered A-K (9.00-3.15) and L-Z (9.15-3.30). Our OSHC program will be open as usual and bookings can be made via the school office. More detail about the return to on site learning will be provided to families next week. Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the sunshine! The Premier and the Education minister have announced changes to Term 3 for schools.
On the advice of the Victorian Chief Health Officer, all students will be required to learn remotely from Wednesday August 5th. Onsite supervision will be available for students whose parents are permitted workers and vulnerable children. Please access our classroom Remote Learning pages from the menu at the left or click on the button at the top of the page. The Victorian Government this week made a series of significant announcements about the introduction of new measures across metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire to reduce the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). The new arrangements that apply to Pender's Grove PS are that there will be five pupil-free days from Monday 13 to Friday 17 July for all students. We will provide more detail on this announcement as soon as possible.
Following advice from the Victorian Government on Tuesday 12 May, some students will be returning to school from Tuesday 26 May.
The Victorian Chief Health Officer has advised that it is safe for Victorian school students and teachers to return to on-site schooling in a two-staged approach: * Stage 1 – from Tuesday 26 May Early years students (Prep to Grade 2) and senior secondary students (Year 11 and 12) undertaking the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) and Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL), and all specialist school students will return to on-site schooling. All staff will attend on-site. * Stage 2 - from Tuesday 9 June Grade 3 to Year 10 students will return to on-site schooling, subject to health advice. The Department’s latest advice on can be found at www.education.vic.gov.au/coronavirus Please see below for some specific advice regarding our school: *A-K surname students school day 8.50 - 3.15 and L-Z surname students 9.05 - 3.30. Please do not drop students off/arrive at school more than 10mins before the allocated start time. *All students must bring a refillable drink bottle (no glass please). Outdoor taps cannot be directly used for drinking. *Parents/carers must drop students at the gate and cannot come into the playground unless needing to go to the office via the front gate. Please talk to your child about which gate you will meet them at (the gate nearest the crossing will not be in use to avoid congestion). *Parents may enter the school yard to drop off/pickup students at OSHC before 8.45/after 3.45. Please note that next week (W/E 15/05) we will be activating passwords on our Remote Learning Pages. Teachers will notify their students of the password and the date it will be activated during class daily emails/Webex meetings early in the week. Please contact the school if you need help with the password for your child's page.
Hi everyone - welcome back for Term 2! As you would know, this term all students will be learning remotely. To access classroom and specialist home learning pages please click on Remote Learning on the main menu or on the button below. Each day your teacher will put their work for the day on their "Daily Page" and they also have a "Main Page" where they will put extra work that can be completed. Have fun and learn lots!
A reminder also to please help your child message or email their teacher every day as this will help them to keep track of student "attendance" at school this term! Following advice from the Victorian Government on Tuesday 7 April, Pender's Grove PS will be moving to remote and flexible learning from Term 2 (beginning with a pupil-free day on Tuesday April 14th).
This is a step all Victorian government schools are taking to help slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). This means that all students who can learn at home must learn from home. This is a very clear directive from the Victorian Government based on the advice of the Chief Health Officer. We will continue to offer limited on-site learning for those students who need to access this, including for students on days when they are not able to be supervised at home and no other arrangements can be made. We will provide further information about this shortly. The Department’s latest advice on coronavirus can be found at https://www.education.vic.gov.au/coronavirus It is important that we work together and support each other during this challenging time. We will be in touch with staff and parents and carers shortly with further details of what remote and flexible learning will look like at our school. In the meantime, you might find it useful to look at the Department’s Learning from Home website. It provides resources and guidance for teachers and parents and carers. https://www.education.vic.gov.au/about/department/Pages/learningfromhome.aspx |
