This year we will be holding our inaugral Pender's Grove Arts Festival. The festival will be held from October 27th - 31st.
On Monday 27th our opening night will begin in the school hall at 17.00 and conclude at 18:30. There will be an official welcome and opening of the Wonderland exhibition, some dance and music before moving outside for refreshments followed by access to the gallery in the library. Children are invited to dress up as a character from either Alice and Wonderland or Through the Looking Glass Books. On Tuesday during the school day classes will visit the gallery and will be encouraged to reflect upon the connections between the creative arts, life and learning. Thursday lunchtime will see a vigorous debate based on an Alice in Wonderland quote. Year 5/6 students will contest the question - What is the point of books without pictures? On Thursday evening at 6pm we will hold our annual Music Soiree in the school hall. This event will showcase performances from students that learn a musical instrument with our three intrumental teachers; Katie, Fiona and Christine. Our week will end with students having A Mad Hatter’s lunch together on Friday from 12.30-1.15pm. There will be stalls selling small treats for less than $2.00. Families are invited to attend this event and share lunch with their children. Students may bring a picnic rug, if labelled with a family name. Parents and children will be able to visit the exhibition after school between 3:30pm and 4pm during this week.
