Remote Learning for 16/2 & 17/2

15/2/2021

Hi 5/6S! I hope you're all well and enjoying the extra time at home. Below are some suggestions for learning you could do on Tuesday and Wednesday.

If you have any questions, want to send me some work or just say hi, you can use the Contact Saskia box on this page or send me an email on saskia.drake@education.vic.gov.au

See you soon!

Tuesday the 16th of February

Reading
Read for 30 minutes. This could be from a book you are already reading or you could read a selection of picture story books. If you remember your Bug Club login you could read from there.

After reading, do a response. You could:
  • Write down any questions you have about what you have read
  • List any interesting words you found
  • Write a short retell of what you read
  • Draw a picture about what you read

Writing
You may have the Identity Interview sheet Deanne handed out on Friday, otherwise you can print the document attached here or copy the questions onto a piece of paper. Then choose someone to interview – it can be someone at home or you could email or phone somebody. Ask them the questions and write down their answers. Alternatively, you can interview yourself by writing your own answers to the questions. Make sure to bring this work in when we’re back at school so you can show Deanne!

Maths
First practise your Multiplication Tables - you could use a deck of cards and pull two out and multiply them together, you could write the times tables out, or you could click the images below to go to these websites and practise your times tables there:

If you're still feeling mathematical after that, you might like to:
  • Do Mathletics (if you can remember your login)
  • Play a game of Mastermind with someone at home
  • Click on the image below to do an online Sudoku puzzle:
Picture

If you've finished your learning,
here are some other things could do:

  • Go for a walk, bike ride or scooter
  • Build a cubby house
  • Play a board or card game
  • Cooking
  • Independent Reading
  • Personal Writing
  • Maths games
  • Drawing or painting
  • Put on some music and dance

Wednesday the 17th of February

Reading
Read for at least 30 minutes, then choose a different response to do today:
  • Write down any questions you have about what you have read
  • List any interesting words you found
  • Write a short retell of what you read
  • Draw a picture about what you read

Writing
If possible, cook a meal today for just yourself, or better yet, your family. Before or after cooking, write down the recipe making sure to include a title and subtitles such as ‘Ingredients’. If you are not able to really cook a meal, write a recipe anyway – it could be a recipe for your dream food or for the most disgusting meal you can think of.

Maths
You can choose how you spend your maths time today. Just try and do some Maths for about 30 minutes. You could:
  • Practise your times tables using cards, paper or the websites from yesterday
  • Do Mathletics (if you can remember your login)
  • Play a game of Mastermind with someone at home
  • Try another online Sudoku puzzle by clicking the image below

If you've finished your learning,
here are some other things could do:

  • Go for a walk, bike ride or scooter
  • Build a cubby house
  • Play a board or card game
  • Cooking
  • Independent Reading
  • Personal Writing
  • Maths games
  • Drawing or painting
  • Put on some music and dance

Hi F1S families and students!

We've got a big Webex day today. Today we have Maths groups - please see your email for times. At 1.30 F1S and F1A will have a Webex together to share the learning we've done this term about our family history. You can share anything you like - you could show a drawing or a photo or you could tell us something you found our about your family from talking to a family member.
Then at 3.45 there is a magic show! This was organised by a parent rather than the school so the only information I have is in this file:

File Type: docx

Have a lovely day and I'll see you soon!

Hi F1S students and families!

I saw some absolutely beautiful Acknowledgement of Country posters yesterday - thanks for all your hard work. We've got some more lovely lessons for you today and I will see you this afternoon at 2.30 for Show and Tell.

Just a reminder that we'll be sharing our Inquiry learning on Wednesday at 1.30 so please have a think about what you might like to share - did you do some drawing about your family's history? Do you have a photo you'd like share? Did you find out anything interesting about your parents or grandparents' lives? You can share whatever and however you like!

Have a lovely day!
