Below is a basic overview of expectations for reading, writing and maths.
As mentioned above you need to visit our daily page for specific daily tasks / lessons.
The 'everyday' expectations.... Everyday you should be reading, writing and doing maths. Reading independently for 30 mins and tracking your reading. Any personal writing you like for example, recording what you have done throughout the day, like a diary. Complete your Mathletics tasks, they will be updated regularly. Remember everything you do is learning, do some cooking, create some art, build a cubby and have fun!
Reading Reading at home will look a lot like reading in the classroom. Each day you are expected to read for 30 minutes. During reading, you can record interesting vocabulary or questions you have. You need to track your reading on your reading tracker each day, including the pages read and your time spent reading. After three of these sessions, you are to complete a response that relates to the text you read. The responses will focus around your comprehension skills that we have been developing in class, such as predicting making-connections text-to text, text-to-self, text-to-world and questioning.
Steps: Select a book to read, have your reading journal ready Read for 30 minutes, logging interesting words or questions in your work book Record your reading when you have finished reading
Maths Complete the open-ended problems in your exercise book. Select problems that you feel comfortable answering, if you don’t understand a part of the problem, choose another one, or ask an adult at home. Remember to continue skip counting by 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 10 and think about the final digit patterns.
Steps: Choose an open ended problem from the list Once selected, write the code date next to that problem so you can see when it was completed Write the problem and the code at the top of a new page Solve your problem, making sure all your working out is on the page

I am thinking of a number between 10 and 100 with a single 9 in it. What might my number be?
What do you know and what can you find out about the number 180? Eg, it is 5 less than 185, or it can be made by 100+80
What different numbers can you make using 6, 5 and 8?
How many numbers can you write with 8 in the hundreds place?
How many ways can you rename 1265? Eg. 1000+200+60+5
What numbers can you make using 1,0,2,7,8 and 4
Our flight was approximately 2000km long. What might the actual distance be?
Write as many numbers as you can with a 7 in the tenths place
Represent 247 in as many different ways as you can
The answer is 25. What could the Maths question be? Write number sentences and a number story to match each one. You can also extend yourself and select a numeral of your own choice.
