WELCOME 34N STUDENTS AND PARENTS

Please go to our '34N Daily Page' each morning for new tasks.

This main page should be used for additional ideas once you have finished your daily tasks.

Welcome to the 3/4N Main Page

Below are additional resources for reading, writing and maths.

As mentioned above you need to visit our daily page for specific daily tasks / lessons.

Reading
Each day you will receive one reading lesson within our daily slides. Completing the lesson in your slides should be your first priority.

Reading at home is a lot like reading in the classroom. During independent reading, you can record interesting vocabulary or questions you have. You can track your reading by keeping a diary of your reading each day, including the pages read and your time spent reading.

After reading you can complete a response that relates to the text you read. The responses will focus around your comprehension skills that we have been developing during Semester 1, such as predicting, making-connections text-to text, text-to-self, text-to-world, questioning, visualising and summarising.

This term we will continue to focus on building word vocabulary, synthesising, skimming and scanning. We will also continue to build on our skill of asking and answering literal and inferential questions.

Reading Response Grid
The above button provides you with a range of options and ideas for responding to reading.
Story Box Library
Use the above online resource to listen to stories. You can create a response after listening.
Behind The News - BTN
Keep up to date with the news that matters to you! Enjoy BTN and feel free to create a response.

Writing
Each day you will receive one writing lesson within our daily slides. Completing the lesson in your slides should be your first priority.

We will often refer to the writing process in our lessons. This process is listed below and under each button you will find a poster detailing each stage of the writing process.
Stage 1 - PLANNING
Stage 2 - COMPOSING
Stage 3 - REVISING
Stage 4 - EDITING
Stage 5 - PUBLISHING
Personal writing never finishes. You should always be engaged in the above process. You can create any texts that you like. If you are having trouble coming up with an idea for writing please explore the below prompts.

Maths
Each day you will receive one maths lesson within our daily slides. Completing the lesson in your slides should be your first priority.

If you elect to complete additional maths please explore the below websites and resources.

Mathletics
Each week we will assign Mathletics tasks connected to our current maths focus. After completing these tasks please feel free to explore the website and compete in 'live maths'.
Problem Solving Tasks
The above button will direct you to a range of problem solving tasks / questions. Answer these in written form and show your working. Select the level that is appropriate for your mathematical ability.
Basic Facts - Multiplication Facts
The above chart will assist you with revising your multiplication facts. Start with 2s, 5s and 10s and once you can automatically recall these move onto the others. Daily revision will help!
Basic Facts - Doubles, halves and more...
The above game is great for revising basic facts. It would be wonderful if you could specifically work on the doubles and halves challenges.
Online Maths Games
The above button will take you to a fantastic library of online maths games. Enjoy

I hope these additional resources help. There are plenty of options for maths revision above and please remember that independent reading and writing has no end point!!!

Enjoy :)
